About Me
Hi, I’m Louise.
I founded Animal Understanding to help dogs and their humans develop mutual understanding and trust, build a great relationship and enjoy life together.
I specialise in puppies (because puppy life can be hard work!) and young dogs — the ‘lovable rogues’, ‘big personalities’ and ‘cheeky characters’ who don't always behave quite as we'd hoped. Maybe they’ve forgotten all their training, lost their recall or turned walks into a nightmare, especially around other dogs. It can be really tough at times, but I am here to help and give ongoing support.
I still get genuinely excited when owners realise things are going to get better, everything starts coming together, they and their dogs light up and enjoy spending time together again — whether that’s at home or out and about.
My approach is kind, reward-based and science-led, with your dog's welfare at the heart of everything I do. I’m a qualified dog trainer and behaviourist with a BSc (Hons) in Zoology and an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training (Distinction).
